Online Reference Manual

ACM Medical Laboratory’s online reference manual is designed to provide easy access to test information. Recent functionality enhancements include:

  • User interface upgrade
  • Easier-to-read page layout
  • “Find a Test”: search by test name, test number, specialty or keyword
  • Search by specialty: current specialties include Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Infectious Disease, Pain Management and Women's Health with more to come
  • New and Featured Tests
  • The ability to bookmark your favorite or most frequently ordered tests for quick reference
  • “Build A Book” of test information that is most useful to you
  • The “Downloads” section: download PDF documents containing additional technical information, algorithms and specimen collection techniques

Here is an overview of what to do and what you will find:

To “Find a Test” – It is easy to do. Just start typing in the name of the test and a list will start to populate, making it easier to find the test you are looking for!  Additional information like test number, specimen requirements and technical specifications, such as methodology, CPT and LOINC codes, stability and reference ranges, are also included.

Specimen Collection Requirements:

The specimen collection requirements provide specific information on the following items:

  • Collection Container; type of container or tube to obtain the specimen for testing
  • Specimen Type; indicates whether the appropriate sample is serum, plasma, whole blood, urine, CSF, stool, amniotic
  • Transport Temperature and Specimen Volume; an amount sufficient to run the test in duplicate if necessary

Check in on a regular basis to see what's new or of interest on our test menu. For example, did you know ACM offers test number 0283 ThinPrep PAP with Reflex to High Risk HPV (age under 30)? GYN patients under the age of 30 can now be screened for cervical cancer using our ThinPrep platform with imaging, and automatic reflex to Cervista HPV HR on ASC-US
